Roger Lajoie started his career in the sports media business on February 1, 1980, when he was hired as a sports writer at the Etobicoke Gazette newspaper, a weekly Metroland Media paper.

     It has been a long road since then. In his 44 year career, Roger has worked for the following at one time or another: Sportsnet, TSN, Toronto Blue Jays Radio Network, Sportsnet 590 The Fan, Sirius XM, Toronto Sun, Toronto Star, Thompson Reuters, United Press International, Oshawa Times, Oshawa This Week, Durham Post, Sport Times, Canadian Hockey League, Toronto Marlboros, Toronto Roadrunners, Mississauga St. Michael's Majors, Major League Baseball, Ottawa Senators, Belleville Senators, and the Intercounty Baseball League...to name more than a few!

     He's written five books, been a teacher, a reporter, an editor, a broadcaster, an announcer, a marketing manager, a business manager, and executive vice-president and an official scorer. He's been to 277 major sporting events throughout North America and has done 1,500 junior and pro hockey broadcasts, been Official Scorer of more than 1,001 baseball games, done more than 3,975 radio shows and done more than 250 TV shows in his career.

     That's experience. You can't teach experience...but you can certainly help others learn from yours.

     In 1989, Roger started Triumph Sports Communications. Now in its 35th year, TSC was at first created really only as a company name primarily to handle all of the contract work Roger was getting from some of the media outlets listed above. But in recent years we've evolved and become a company that specializes in helping others take advantage of the experience Roger has garnered from his unique and exciting career in sports media and marketing.

     Teaching and mentoring in particular have become focuses of TSC in the last several years. Roger taught at the College of Sports Media and at Ryerson University and in addition to that, now works with TEAMMATES as a Life Coach, Mentor and Business Consultant to individuals and companies, helping them to create the kind of careers and lifestyles where they will be able to use Roger's mantra to describe: "My vocation is my vacation."
